Our mission is to cultivate a healing community for those impacted by life challenges through community prevention and wellness initiatives.
About CPWI
The Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) is a strategic, data-informed, community coalition model aimed at preventing youth alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, opiods, and other drug use by targeting prevention efforts in highest risk communities throughout the state. The CPWI model uses a data-informed, community-level decision making process to determine root social and emotional causes that predict problem behaviors. CPWI provides community coalition with funding, training amd technical assistance for coordination, assessment, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of prevention services needed in their communities.

Goals
Increase Community Connectedness
Increasing our connectedness and outreach will increase awareness, reduce stigmas, and increase understanding and compassion.
Establish a community norm of unfavorable attitudes toward substance use.
We provide a variety of outreach and multiple you and young adult informative discussions to continue factual conversations and be as informative as possible.
Strengthen barriers to substance use for youth and children.
Strengthening refusal skills in addition to teaching youth reasons to avoid alcohol, tobacco, and other substances such as opioids. We will utilize evidence-based and innovative programming and education to help youth and their families strengthen barriers to substance use.
Strengthen the resolve of children and youth to avoid substances.
Working closely with our youth and young adults to build confidence in their communication and confidence will provide the tools to firmly stick to their goals and morals.
OSTOP Events
With our goal being prevention first, we want to ensure that our impact is felt at the Orting Middle School and the Orting High School. We often host events to bring awareness and education. This also provides opportunities for student led conversations.
